LENSES

Your eyes work by taking in vast amounts of information about what’s around you, sending signals to your brain so that you can see shapes, colours, texture and movement.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT LENSES

Not all lenses are the same, and Helen Scott Opticians recommends Essilor lenses, essential for clear, comfortable vision. Helen Scott Opticians is Ayrshire’s sole Varilux specialist and is always available to help with your choice.

With your prescription, we will then be able to advise you on a range of lens types to suit your lifestyle and to protect your eyes. Helen Scott recommends Essilor lenses and, with the correct lens, you’ll benefit from crystal clear, sharp and comfortable vision. You’ll have the look that’s right for you, optimised for any performance in sports, safer night time driving and all round living.

We will advise you on the many different types of Essilor lenses available, as well as the many lens properties and treatments that can benefit your eyes.

Helen Scott will work with you to choose the right lenses for your vision, lifestyle and taste. The Varilux X Series, featuring the latest innovation in technology from Essilor, is now available at Helen Scott Opticians. Short-sightedness (Myopia)

When distant objects appear blurred, but your near vision is perfectly clear, you may have a refractive error called Myopia. Long-sightedness (Hyperopia) If you struggle to see objects that are close-up, but can see objects clearly at a far distance, then you may be Hyperopic.

Astigmatism

If you experience blurred or distorted vision and headaches then you could have astigmatism, which means that light doesn’t focus properly on the retina.

Age-related long-sightedness (Presbyopia)

Are you having trouble focusing on nearby objects? You may be suffering from Presbyopia. This is normally a problem that affects people over the age of 40.
